The study of heating and cooling in products and processes is important in practically all industries. Behavior of products and processes is greatly affected by heat transfer effects and thus modeling of heat transfer phenomena is central in designing products or processes for optimal performance.
Heat transfer occurs due to three
mechanisms — conduction, convection and
radiation. Most often, it is also coupled with
other phenomena such as fluid flow, solid
mechanics, electromagnetics, chemical
reactions and phase change. We solve
modeling problems which involve these
phenomena and their complex interactions.
