Fluid Flow through Channels
Models of fluid flow through narrow channels such as pipes
23 May 2014 to 2 Jul 2014
We will review the standard equations of fluid mechanics, and then launch into models of fluid flow in channels of various shapes (rectangular, cylindrical, parallel plates). After giving closed form solutions for incompressible flow, we will give empirical relations for compressible flow and indicate research directions.
