We created an app in which a modeler can model gas pipes very fast, by inputting geometry parameters. As the modeler changes individual parameters, the pressure drop across the pipeline is calculated instantly. This allows the modeler to keep changing the parameters till a target performance is achieved.
Such an app can be specialized for automotive air and fuel systems, for the process industry and for oil-and-gas engineers. Even though the physics remains the same, apps targeted to different industries will be different — they will be designed keeping in mind the language and design freedom of that particular engineering application. A well built app can improve productivity of engineers considerably.
