Algorithms for Physics: From Euclid to A.I. (and beyond)
Popular science talk on the use of algorithms in physics, at TechJam,Pune.
28 Jul 2017
Can the world around us - the physical world - be modeled using algorithms? This quest started with Euclid, and has continued through Newton, Gauss and many other scientists to this day. Today, with massive computing power, modern machine learning algorithms and AI, where have we reached? Have we finally conquered the world of physics modeling? Or are there still challenges to be met and algorithms to be invented? Join us for a fun filled evening of trivia and philosophy regarding the past, present and future of physics and its computation.
(This is a popular science talk, i.e. no mathematics will be discussed. And yet, actual new research will be presented!)
