Is there a 'Universal' Fatigue Model?

Talk on a 'universal' model for material mechanics at the SAE, Fatigue Design & Evaluation Committee, Spring 2017 meeting.
25 Apr 2017

SAE International is a global association of engineers and technical experts from the aerospace, automotive and commercial-vehicle industries. They come together for life-long learning and voluntary consensus standards development.

FD&E, SAE's Fatigue Design and Evaluation Committee focuses on fatigue and their spring 2017 meeting is scheduled on April 25th, 2017 at the TPC Deere Run, Silvis, IL.

In this meeting, Noumenon's CEO, Udayan Kanade will be giving a talk titled “Is it Possible to have a Universal Fatigue Model?”

Noumenon has been working on a “universal” model for material mechanics. Here the word “universal” implies that the model is created using universal physics truths rather than assumptions and simplifications. Phenomena modeled by us under this universal modeling theme includes material elasticity and plasticity. The talk will elucidate methods of material testing, material selection, and material modeling & simulation based on such a universal material model.

Presenter: Udayan Kanade.

Venue: TPC Deere Run

Time: Tuesday, April 25th, 2017 from 1:00pm - 2:00pm CDT (US)
